Art on Portuguese Guitar - Fernando Pessoa

The artist Rita Ventura in cooperation with Terra Madre – Stringed Instruments presents the collection “Art on Portuguese guitar”.

This is a special collection of unique works painted with acrylic ink on wood. The Portuguese guitar is used as canvas by the artist who gets inspired by the city of Lisbon and in its iconography – result of the city life where she was born, has studied and has created her work.

Portuguese guitars are artisanal made in Portugal with fine solid woods and besides being an exquisite decorative objects it can be played as well, thus combining an instrument with a unique sound typically Portuguese with the iconographic art of Lisbon.

The collection will be exhibited at the Palácio Foz in Lisbon during the summer of 2016.

Rita Ventura was Born in Lisbon, where she presently lives. B. A. Honors degree in Graphic Design and Painting at IADE – Creative University where she studied under the orientation of the renowned painter Lima de Freitas.

Later Rita Ventura enrolled in the RTP’s training course working in the Graphic Design department.

As a creative designer professional she worked in advertising in cooperation with several communication companies and other institutions.

She has always maintained her painting activity and took part in the 1st edition of SIAC – The International Salon of Contemporary Artists, held in the Fundição de Oeiras and in the Monsaraz Biennial.

She has staged several individual exhibitions and her works are held in various private collections in Portugal and abroad.

Presently she works as an artist in her studio, where she also develops other creative projects as painting courses.
